Saint Patrick's Day, Soccer, and Photo Shoot

We walked in the Children's Parade on Saint Patrick's Day. This was just a couple of days after we got Bear Bear, so we wanted to take him. He did great! They had a pet parade before the children's parade, but low and behold, we were late and missed it.

Such a calm pup!
These two won't be pinched by any leprechauns!

Getting ready for the parade!

I wish this picture was taken from the other side so you could see how Bear Bear is laying his head in Lexi's lap. So Sweet!
Gavin's soccer season is coming to an end. He had 2 games on Saturday, and scored 3 goals in each of them! If he stays focused, which we have to remind him to do, he really does great. After one goal he scored, he ran up to Greg and said, "Dad, I did the trick you taught me! I got in front of the black guy (jersey color), and used my body to block him so he couldn't take the ball from me!" And guess what? I caught it with my awesome new camera :-)

It's times like this when being able to take like 4 shots a second, or something crazy like that, comes in handy! I have a bazillion more pictures from his games, but I will spare you my pride in my son's soccer skills, and in my amazing photography skills :-)

Speaking of my amazing photography skills, (hehe) we decided to have a little photo shoot after church this morning since the weather was beautiful and kids were dressed up and looking all cute.

I am going to be ordering some prints of some of these, so all you Grandmas, Grandpas, and Aunties...let me know if you want any!

Goodbye Hank

I am writing this to say goodbye to Hank, Hanky, Hankers, Hank the Tank; our first baby, our childrens' first best friend. He went to Doggie Heaven today. Hank was only 6, but he had lymphosarcoma. He was diagnosed about 4 months ago. He was doing pretty good on his medication until recently. He stopped eating again, and developed sores on his legs that got infected, and left it hard for him to get around. I know he was uncomfortable, and that he is in a better place now. We will miss you terribly Hank!

Goodbye Hank. We love you. Thank you for being such a good dog.

Monster Jam!

Okay, it's been a looong time since my last post! I'm not even going to try to catch y'all up on what's been happening since November...Christmas, Birthdays, Foot Surgery, etc. I'm such a bad blogger! But, I do have some cool pictures I wanted to share.

Greg took Gavin to the Monster Jam a few weeks ago. Boys night out! Mommy and Lexi will have our date on March 3rd, when I am taking her to the ballet! She is beyond excited. She even got a pretty new dress and shoes to wear. If she even hears Gavin mention a monster truck, she screams, "Mommy is taking me to see ballerinas!"

A friend of ours gave us pit passes, so they got to see everything up close before the show!

Gavin sat on Daddy's shoulders and wrote his name of the "Ice Cream" truck.

You can't go to a show at the Coliseum without cotton candy!

The Ice Cream truck Gavin wrote his name on.

Monster truck in action!

The Fire Breathing Dragon. By far Gavin's favorite part of the show!

The dragon "ate" the cars.
That's all for now folks! I'll try to update more often!

Gavin's Thanksgiving Program

Mr. Gavin recently had his very first Preschool program. The kids were so cute! The teachers showed us things they have been learning, and they sang Thanksgiving songs.

Gavin's Indian name was Red Arrow

Miss Lexi waiting to hear the kids sing!

We love Gavin's school! Gavin especially. His teacher called last week for a conference and said that she enjoys Gavin so much. "He is so sweet and kind, and I wish every child were like him," I believe were her exact words! She said he gets along with all the children, and everybody loves him. He is also right were he needs to be with everything they are working on, including writing. He can write his name, although they are working on getting him to use lower case letters. He is much more comfortable with all upper case. The "music and movement" teacher reported that he has trouble skipping. Not too worried about that one :-)

Here is the video of the program. Mrs. Prather, the leader of the "Integrity Time" segment is Gavin's teacher.

I hate that Gavin was right behind the podium, you couldn't see him very well. Did you like Lexi's rendition of the ABC song? I guess she got tired of not being the center of attention.

And in true holiday spirit, I would like you all to know that I am thankful for YOU! All our family and friends. We are so blessed to have all of you in our lives!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Changes for the Schnacks

I can't believe summer is over! Gavin started pre-school last Monday. He's going Monday, Wednesday, and Friday's. I LOVE his school. I can't tell you how many times I teared up at orientation just knowing that my baby boy is growing up, he's going to have SO much fun at school, and that the staff is going to love my precious boy. It's great to know that he is in such a loving, nurturing environment when I drop him off. I think Lexi kind of misses her brother because before we are even out of the parking lot, she asks, "Is it time to pick up Gavin yet?"

Here is Gavin on his first day of school! I meant to get more pictures of him when we got there, but my battery died. I'm lucky I got this one!
Miss Lexi started climbing out of her crib, so we decided that it would be a good time to convert to a toddler bed. That was about a week ago. Since then, naps have been very few and far between, and bedtime takes a while. The terrible two's have become the torturous two's. Lord help me!

At least she's cute!

Gavin the Photographer, Character Breakfast, and More!

So I finally uploaded all the pictures from Gavin's camera that he got for Christmas. (I know, I know, I'm a horrible mother). All 750 of them. Most of them got erased, like the 250 that he took of the TV while he was watching a movie one day. But, I have to admit he had some pretty interesting shots in there. It's fun to see his world, through his eyes!

Lots of pictures of his toys!

He loves the fun frames and effects

Lots of pictures of himself!

He likes to take pictures while we're driving in the car.

This is a picture of a picture :-)
This morning we had breakfast with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy Duck, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and lots of Princesses. A local restaurant did this as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Lexi was excited to dress up in her "pretty, pretty dress." Gavin wanted to dress up too, so he wore his fireman stuff.

Enjoying some chocolate chip pancakes!

Gavin ran up to Woody and Buzz as soon as he saw them and gave them both big hugs.

Gavin traded his fire hat for a cowboy hat.
Sweet girls! Lexi and her friend Lily.
And I just had to share these pics...baby's first ponytail!

Well, that's all for now!
